About

This session will provide an understanding of how to quantify the effectiveness of coil cleaning in both residential and commercial applications. It will review various types of coils, sizes and configurations and how to determine appropriate coil cleaning methods. Attendees will learn how to conduct pressure drops and air flow tests so they can quantify and verify the results of coil cleaning methods.

Objectives

  • As a result of this session, participants should be able to:

    • Understand different types of coils (heating, cooling).
    • Understand differences that may appear when inspecting them.
    • Visually quantifying the cleanliness of a coil and some of the tools used to clean them.
    • Utilizing a monometer to take pressure drops across the coil and provide calculations to quantify.
    • Utilizing a vane anemometer to check air flow across a coil and provide calculations to quantify.
